How to finish waxed cord

This simple technique is used to melt and glue the end of macrame work. i usually make a simple knot first, then burn the end to finish.

✵Please do this with parental permission as you are using a live flame.

✵Do not use this technique with flammable material like cotton, hemp and linen close by. Best results with waxed nylon cord.

Preparation

✤candle or lighter

✤Bowl of water ( for safety)

Step 1

clear all flammable goods from working area. prepare bowl of water next you.

Step 2

Light the candle

Step 3

Hold your macrame jewellery in your hand leaving the part that you want to burn.Making sure not to burn any order parts.

Step 4

keeping a space (of about 2cm) from the flame, burn the end of your jewellery to melt and glue it.
