welcome…..

Thank you for visiting my shop and taking the time to find out more about Yoko MicroMacrame Arts.

I was born and raised in Japan, where I developed a deep appreciation for traditional culture and handmade crafts inspired by nature. Growing up surrounded by this rich heritage, I've always been passionate about arts and crafts.

Ten years ago, I discovered the art of macramé, one of the oldest crafts in the world. Inspired by this technique, I founded a workshop in Auckland focused on teaching children how to create beautiful macramé pieces. Over time, the workshop has expanded to include adults as well. My approach blends macramé techniques with the natural beauty of crystals, which I believe are gifts from Mother Nature herself.

My creative journey is fueled by a desire to capture the harmony and beauty that exists between human creation and the natural world. Drawing inspiration from nature's forms and the timeless symbols crafted by humanity over centuries, I strive to create pieces that resonate with this symbiotic relationship.

I hope my work will touch your heart and provide a little sparkle in your daily life!

Love,
YOKO MicroMacrame Arts

What Is MicroMacrame?

Macrame is a textile art using different knotting techniques. It is assumed to have originated from Arabia, where it was used to make decorative items.

Micro Macramé is similar, however it uses materials that are more fine. The cords that are used are much thinner, and is it used to make smaller projects than the regular Macramé projects.
