WORKSHOP 8 Oct 31 Written By Yoko Onishi How to wrap Point Crystal How to wrap a point crystal Preparation ✵waxed cord✵your selection of a point crystalOption✵Beads ( make sure two waxed cords can fit through the hole) Step 1 Cut four waxed cords into 75cm each and separate to two groups folding in half like the picture Step 2 Put one group of cords underneath of the other group Step 3 lift up one side like the picture to make a loop hole Step 4 pull the other ends into the loop to make a knot This knot is called a Lark’s Head Knot Step 5 place the knot on the crystal to see where you want the front of pendant to be. Step 6 Check the size of the crystal Step 7 Keep that size of the crystal in your mind and Make a knot Step 8 Put the crystal back in Step 9 Spread cords into two sides Step 10 make knots on both side Step 11 Make a knot on front side Step 12 Make a knot on the back too Step 13 Hold the crystal firmly, and pull all cords to make it very tight. Step 14 Spread the cords as in the picture.Two cords each from the front and back to the sides and leave the others straight. Step 15 Start making Flat knots using the outside cords as working cords Step 16 Leave two working cords and continue flat knots with the other two working cords.Make a belt about 1.5-2cm long Step17 Fold the belt to the front side to make a loop(hook) Step 18 Use all of four working cords to make few flat knots to secure the loop(Hook) Step 19 Make a one simple knot with working cords to make it very tight Step 20 Cut off left over of working cordsYou may also cut the other cords and finish it or continue the next steps for creating a little design on the front… Option to create a little design at the front Now you should have four cords(ABCD) as a picture. Step 21 Make a double hitch knot with cord C & DPlease check our previous workshop 5 & 7 Workshop journal Step 22 Make a double hitch knot on cord C with A, and on cord D with B. Step 23 Put a bead through the cords A & B, and make a double hitch knot with cord A on cord d, and with cord B on cord C Step 24 make a double hitch knot with Cord D & C Step 25 Put cord D through a needle Step 26 Pull needle through, underneath the knot on the crystal, as in the picture Step 27 Thread cord C through the needle and repeat step 26 Now it’s all tied.
